Appreciating Diversity in Entrepreneurial Ecosystems and within Entrepreneurial Ecosystems

This panel will engage a panel of scholars and attendees in a moderated and integrative discussion on (1) how diversity of entrepreneurial ecosystems (EEs)—enclaves in the Global North and informal-formal markets in the Global South—operate in similar and different ways from the mainstream market the EE literature predominately envisions; (2) how diversity within EEs matters (i.e., entrepreneurs who identify as immigrant and/or women/gender-diverse and/or queer, and/or BIPOC); (3) what an intersectionality lens reveals about what is working and not working for equity-diversity entrepreneurs and why; and (4) what are common unintended consequences to avoid and wise practices to adopt when seeking to support inclusive EEs.
This panel is for those interested in entrepreneurial ecosystems and heterogeneity of the entrepreneurial experiences of EEs that are often left out of current conversations. Come and add to the conversation!
The panel will start off with brief presentations and moderate conversation by panelists and then open the floor to an interactive conversation with panelist and attendees.
