Announcing new special issue:  Intelligence, Employment Inequality, and the Future of Inclusive Work

    First Deadline: November 1, 2026

Special issue of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: An International Journal.

Topic: How AI affects the job loss of marginalized minorities. It is expected that 16,000 minority individuals will lose their jobs because of AI and will be displaced. There are a number of reasons for this includIng:

    1. Marginalized minorities are more likely to be employed in low level routine jobs, and these are the types of jobs that will be first eliminated by AI.
    2. New jobs will require digital skills, and marginalized minorities are less likely to have those skills because of underfunded schools, few opportunities for training, and the digital divide.
    3. AI hiring algorithms are often biased against minorities because they are trained on existing databases which often include biases.

Guest Editors include: Kim Lukaszewski, Michelle Arthur, Pierre Andrieux, and Richard Johnson.
