Connecting Global Voices for Inclusion: DEI Ambassadors Supporting Emerging International Scholars
The AOM Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Division warmly invites you to participate in this engaging Professional Development Workshop (PDW), designed to connect, support, and empower emerging international scholars from emerging economies, the Global South, and other underrepresented regions.
Whether you are an early-career scholar, a first-time AOM attendee, or an experienced member committed to fostering a more globally inclusive Academy, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn, connect, and contribute.
What to Expect
- Insights from international scholars on navigating AOM and building a successful research career.
- Practical guidance on developing high-quality conference submissions and responding effectively to reviewer expectations.
- Interactive roundtable discussions on overcoming barriers, expanding professional networks, and fostering a stronger sense of belonging within AOM.
- Opportunities to connect with DEI Global Ambassadors and request a mentor for ongoing support throughout the coming year.
Featured Panelists
Our panel brings together scholars from diverse institutional and regional contexts, including:
- Yuka Fujimoto (Sunway University, Malaysia)
- Ekaterina Netchaeva (HEC Paris)
- Anyi Ma (University of Wisconsin)
- Marla White (Virginia Tech)
Together with DEI Global Ambassadors and facilitators, participants will engage in meaningful conversations about advancing globally relevant scholarship, navigating academic careers across different contexts, and strengthening inclusion within the Academy of Management.
This workshop reflects the DEI Division's commitment to creating pathways for emerging scholars, expanding global participation, and building a more inclusive scholarly community. Participants will leave with practical strategies, new professional connections, and ongoing mentorship opportunities to support future AOM submissions and long-term engagement.
We warmly welcome DEI members, emerging scholars, mentors, and colleagues from across all AOM divisions to join us in strengthening our global community.
We look forward to seeing you there!
