Call for expression of interest
PostDoc Position in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Copenhagen Business School
Copenhagen Business School (CBS) invites expressions of interest for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), at the Department of International Economics, Government & Business (EGB). We welcome EoIs from researchers with a background in management, organisational behaviour, psychology, sociology, strategy or behavioural economics whose work addresses diversity, bias, or inclusion at individual, group, or organisational levels.
The postdoc is to be recruited for the project funded by the Spar Nord Foundation entitled: Managing the paradox of diversity: A research based immersive virtual reality approach.
This project provides a research-based approach to managing the paradox of diversity in Danish organisations. By applying a multi-level multi-disciplinary approach to diversity, it offers a systemic view of equity and inclusion within and across levels of analysis; it proposes interventions and evaluations of their short-term and long-term results in leading Danish business organisations. By utilizing advances in virtual reality (VR) technology and immersive learning, this project offers novel and impactful ways to change behaviour, create systemic change and increase equity, diversity and inclusion.
The project is funded by the Spar Nord Foundation and runs in collaboration with Danish companies. It combines immersive VR experiments with people analytics, in-depth qualitative fieldwork, and longitudinal survey data. The postdoc will contribute to theory, data collection, qualitative and quantitative analysis, fieldwork coordination, and academic publication alongside the Principal Investigator, Prof. Sabina Tasheva Nielsen.
The postdoc is a non-tenured position for 1 year with the possibility of extension.
Qualifications
You should be able to demonstrate strong research potential in the areas of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and International Business. In addition, you should have excellent quantitative methodological skills.
The applicant must have professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
The successful candidate will hold or will be close to completing a PhD from a recognised research institution and have a demonstrated publication record in a field relevant to this project.
Methodologically, the position requires hands-on experience with advanced quantitative techniques, such as Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) and/or Latent Growth Modelling (LGM), and familiarity with multilevel analysis. Prior use of experimental or quasi-experimental research designs - including lab, field, or vignette experiments - is highly valued. No prior experience with virtual reality technology is required; training will be provided.
The ideal candidate will have a strong theoretical grounding in one or more of the following areas: diversity and inclusion in organisations, implicit bias and social categorisation, behavioural economics of discrimination, and multilevel models of organisational behaviour. Familiarity with core literatures in equity, diversity and inclusion - including research on the effectiveness and the unintended consequences of DEI programmes - is an advantage. Experience conducting or coordinating data collection in organisational field settings is also desirable.
Emphasis is placed on methodological rigour and theoretical contribution relevant to the project description. We explicitly encourage applications from researchers trained in management, organisational psychology, social psychology, sociology, strategy or behavioural economics - the project is inherently interdisciplinary and values diversity of theoretical and methodological approach.
Copenhagen Business School has a broad commitment to the excellence, distinctiveness and relevance of its teaching and research programs.
