Sage Award for Scholarly Contributions

Status: OPEN Nomination-based Outstanding Scholarship Presented at the AOM Annual Meeting

This award is presented annually to a nominee who has made outstanding and sustained scholarly contributions to the field. It recognizes a current or former member of the DEI Division whose body of work has significantly advanced knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion in organizations. The award honors individuals whose scholarship has deepened understanding, influenced critical conversations, and meaningfully shaped theory, research, and practice in DEI.

Scholarly contributions may include the creation, development, and dissemination of new knowledge through empirical research, theoretical innovation, integrative reviews, or applied scholarship that informs organizational practice. This award recognizes an accumulated and enduring body of work that demonstrates sustained impact and long-term influence on the advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

Nomination Details

Nomination status: OPEN

To nominate, please submit:

  1. A nomination letter describing the nominee’s contributions to the criteria below (recommended: 2–3 pages)
  2. A copy of the nominee’s curriculum vitae (CV)

Criteria

Criteria for consideration include:

  1. the overall scope of the nominee’s work with consideration of their contribution to diversity, equity and inclusion
  2. the depth of the nominee’s research in terms of richness in the exploration of one or more diversity, equity and inclusion topics
  3. significance of research in raising important questions and providing direction for future research in the diversity, equity and inclusion domain
  4. enduring contribution to research on diversity, equity and inclusion

Award Details

This award is presented in person at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting.
